Love in Ten Sentences

I saw this prompt on a blog some time ago and thought to myself back then – I’m going to have a crack at that… later.  Later is here; so here is the poem (sorry I don’t remember who prompted me).

Write a poem about love and title it ‘Love in Ten Sentences’. It should have 10 lines, each 4 words long. Every line should contain the word ‘love’ in some form. At the end of the poem, you should include your favorite quote about love

She believes my love,

I want her love,

We love this truth.

Warm love, comforts us.

Hot love, spices lives.

Reckless love can bruise.

We choose strong love.

Long time lovers fit –

The others loving arms.

Live life lovingly loyal.

(haiku) Insomnia

silver moonlight slants

bathing autumns fallen leaves

sleepless feet wander

Westerlies

put the blankets out to air

the ferris wheel turns

The Angel Descends

And the sky sung like a rainbow.

I pressed my head against the cotton stone

And tried to hold on to all I know,

As euphoria took hold of every bone.

I rode the wave

I lived the song

I danced the tune

I banged the gong

She sang to me in languages of old

In tongues so far beyond my grasp.

Left me with nothing on which to hold

As I stood alone on the very cusp.
