  1. Beautiful poem, and I like how you tie it in to some of our deepest thoughts. I think you listed quite a few thoughts that some of us think each day as we go out climbing a mountain, hiking, walking, exercising or perhaps even taking on a new challenge or trying something new. Sometimes we move along because we want to run and find a better place, find a sense of security…and as you said in the poem, sometimes we just need to. For me, whenever I need to think, I just take a walk somewhere – be it the city or a bit of a hill if I’m not too tired ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope all is well up in Queensland, Andy. It was a bit of a balmy winter weekend here in Melbourne, but we are back to the cold next week. A taste of summer already ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Thanks Mabel – Balmy Melbourne?? I never experienced that when I was down there hahaha. Sometimes we do just need to do something for ourselves – its not because we are selfish, its because we want to be at our best for others as well as ourselves. I like to walk and think, I also love to ride my motorcycle out into the hills to clear my mind – I call it sieving ๐Ÿ™‚ Meditation a just watching nature does it for me too. Take care Mabel – rug up ๐Ÿ™‚

      • ‘we want to be at our best for others as well as ourselves.’ Now you got me thinking, Andy. We be the best for ourselves so we can give others the best ๐Ÿ™‚

It was less than 10’C for most of the day here today. No where near balmy ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Cheers Dad – I think we all have times when we need a little ‘me time’ and sometime its easy to lose sight of where you are going and what you want, and this helps to restore us. Love ya.

    • Mountains both literal and figurative add a little spice to our lives ๐Ÿ™‚ – most of the time anyway ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks Mani, blessings from Australia ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Beautiful piece, Andy. This idea of mountains hiding something from our view had always appealed to me in more than one sense. This ‘hiding’ urges to ‘know’ what’s there…Like your ending lines- a quite respite, some experience, or… ourselves?

    • Cheers Mrs M ๐Ÿ˜Š. This is a pic I took of Cradle Mountain (iPhone 7plus) in Tassie. I played with it in the iOS app called ‘etchings’. Glad you liked it and the poem ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™
