(What is FISH? – Fluorescence In Situ Hybridisation detects and localises DNA sequences using fluorescently labelled complimentary DNA probes. Why? In cytogenetic laboratories to observe, abnormalities in chromosomes which may be the cause of cancers or possible abnormalities in future offspring.
