Alone I drift Through a life of change Seeking no specific answers Reacting only when necessary. The constant flow of time Sometimes quicker Other times painfully slow Marks my passage. Sometime I drift In thoughts And dreams Sometimes I drift In simple black and white And then in colour Sometimes I drift In meditation and sometimes in confusion Sometimes I drift On clouds Of ecstasy and pain Sometimes I drift And build Fantastic structures Sometimes I drift Alone And at peace Sometimes I drift In ideas Of transcendence Sometimes I just drift
sunrise and free time
thoughts travel beyond this day
peace in this moment
I met a man upon the beach One steamy summer morn'. He was quiet and calm, And as we stood and watched - Another day was born. As the first rays touch our chests I turned to look at him once more. His hair was long, His feet were bare, His robes were wet and worn. He turned to me a gaze that pierced, Then filled me with content. His eyes were deep His face was calm His soul was on display. He invited me to share repast We sat and watched the rising sun - And ate his fish And ate his bread And drank no finer brew. Conversation flowed with ease As if brought upon the gentle breeze We spoke of things That summer dawn Which calmed my jagged mind. I walk that beach now ev'ry day And feel the same sweet peace - As nature flows And the ocean sighs And seabirds eulogise.
joyfully I stretch arms wide to catch the sunrise dark mind disappears
On any still night
When the clouds are low
And the city lights,
Create an orange glow.
You may perceive it.
Maybe not in the first instant
But with time you might
Come to notice the remnant.
It’s the noise that’s left behind
As society goes about its business –
The machineries daily grind.
It’s an eerie, almost silence.
You’ll know it from the time
You’re sweetheart touched your hand
In that crowded five and dime
The murmur, the only sound that remained.
And as you stand at sea’s shore
On this calm, steamy evening
You can hear it once more,
The hum of lives out there – living.
