Lunch

It is my Mother’s birthday – this is written to thank her for me being here and enjoying life – Happy Birthday Mum!  with love, Andy xox

I looked across at Rodney’s lunch –
Cream Bun, all sweet and sugary,
A dusting of white sugar powder.
I licked my lips –
I’d love a bight of that.

In my lap, there sat a box;
Fresh, bright red Tupperware.
Inside, a package of neatly folded
Brown paper waited.
The sauce from the crust-free baked bean sandwich held within
couldn’t escape the careful,
Double wrap, which protected my
Two Iced Vovo biscuits from
Serious sauce contamination.
I love all of my lunch.
