to the beach i must go
for this countryside aches –
or is it my spirit,
that cries out “inspire me!?”
these trees no longer shine
like sunlight on the sand,
or salt spray in my beard.
Their beauty remained full
but my mind became tired.
I will swap grass for sand
and listen to the waves –
always remembering
and forever thankful,
for the trees that whispered,
sheltered and then taught me,
that true beauty resides
in nature, and simply
beholding her wonder.
Beautiful…
that true beauty resides
in nature, and simply
beholding her wonder
Loved it..

I agree – nature recharges us. The city is where I work and the country or beach is where I recharge – I particularly love to walk on the beach when it is raining…weird I know 🙂

No, its not weird. Walking on the beach in rain must be the most stunning experience one could have. I want to do that but I don’t stay close to a beach. Sigh!

Beautifully said, Andy. True beauty certain lies in nature and the every day things around us that we take for granted. I like how you make it out that you are listening to the trees in this poem. I wonder, maybe trees do intend to talk to us when they flutter their leaves against each other 🙂

Thanks Mabel. Yeah. One of my favourite trees is the She Oak, it is also called the Whispering Tree because of the soft sighing sound the wind makes as it blows though it’s foliage – I love to listen to them 😊

Enjoy your new paradise! I live in the city and also love escaping to the beach when I can. Your words beckoned to me, so I’ll most likely walk the sands soon.

I like to be among trees and in or around water. One of my favorite poetic writings is titled, “There is Peace in Trees.” Glad to have found your blog, I get very busy during week due to long summer hours, so you may see me visit on weekends only. 🙂 ~ Robin
